LUSCINIA also participated successful at many international choir competitions, for example the "Opava Cantat" in the Czech Republic, as well as the "International Eisteddfod" in Llangollen / Wales and the "Festival Internacional de Musica de Cantonigros" in Spain.
The repertoire of LUSCINIA includes compositions from Renaissance to contemporary Czech and world composers. In its concerts and recordings the choir also presents masses, cantatas, folk songs, jazz, spirituals and popular music. It holds world record in the recording of the shortest opera (certified by The Guiness Book of Records) and it performs pieces, which popular bands adapted to choral singing.
In June 2004 LUSCINIA premiered the a cappella choral piece "Missa Brevis", written by the American composer Christopher M. Wicks, at the Jihlava Choral Festival in the Czech Republic. Another highlight in 2004 was the premiere of the African Concert and African Prayer by N. Luboff, that has been presented in Opava for the first time.

The choir cooperates with the Janacek Chamber Orchestra in Ostrava and it records CDs for the Czech Radio Ostrava.
Constant activities are spring- and Christmas-concerts with international guests, as well as concerts for disabled children and fellow citizens.
